Holograms - Microsoft Hololens

An immersive education summit is an event that take place ever year in different parts of the world. This year, in 2015 it is taking place in Paris, France. Immersion 2015 is a conference like event that will include many famous speakers. These speakers include: Walt Disney, Microsoft, Google, The Smithsonian Institution, and other world- class organizations. The topic that will be presented at this event include: holograms, 3D Printing, game-based learning, virtual reality and personal robotics. For more information on Immersion 2015, held in Paris this year please visit this website: Click Here!

The Microsoft Hololens is an innovative way of learning, working and playing through the lens of 3D goggles. The goggles show images the wearer can see, everyone else will just the they're wearing really goofy glasses. By adding this to an immersive learning environment it can be a very fun and safe way to learn.

In the 3D Immersive environment it helps that the wearer of the goggles can also see the real world around while viewing the 3D image. The world around the wearer of the glasses is enhanced by what he or she wants to see. For example, if they are working on building a motorcycle. The wearer of the glasses can manipulate the motorcycle however he or she wants, but only the wearer of the glasses can see the motorcycle. It may not physically be there in the real world the the wearer of the goggles can manipulate it.

Microsoft Hololens is a very interactive technology rather than just being all visual. Although it is great for 3D/Hologram use there is a lot more that it can do. It can be very useful in the workplace where someone can use it to suggest new ideas and share them with each other. This photo below shows what it would be like if someone were actually using the goggles. It shows what the wearer would see. In this case the wearer is using the goggles to access all of his favorite applications including Netflix. This shows that one can use the goggle to view his or her favorite TV shows and movies as well. Navigating through the applications as your would on your computer or laptop, but you would use your finger instead. Hololens does this by projecting the images right in front of you.

This product, the Microsoft Hololens is the future, not just for personal use. The future of learning, and working as well. This can be used for visual and hands on learning so students who are visual learners, like myself can learn easier. Instead of students reading through paragraphs and paragraphs of instructions, or listening to 30 minute long audios of instructions, Hololens can show the step by step process right in front of the student, which will help them focus on the task at hand.

Here is a video of how the Microsoft Hololens works!
